Directions to NCYC

By Sea to North Cove

From Mouth of Connecticut River

  • Proceed upriver pass Saybrook Pt (Dock and Dine Restaurant) to Can C "15".
  • Turn west into channel (10 ft mlw) Depths in Cove are 6 ft mlw since 2009 dredging.
  • Look for empty mooring (marked by yellow ribbon).
  • Moorings are controlled by Town of Old Saybrook and are free to transients for up to 72 hour stay.
  • Contact NCYC Launch on channel 78A
  • There is a fee for use of NCYC facilities and launch service.
  • It is a short walk to Main St. Old Saybrook, stores, restaurants, and The Katherine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center.

 

By Land

From New Haven & New York

  • Take Interstate 95 North to Exit 67.
  • Bear right off exit ramp onto Route 154 West.
  • Go straight through two traffic lights, turn left at third light.
  • Sheffield St. is the third left on Main St. Old Saybrook
  • NCYC is on the left near end of Sheffield St. just beyond school.

From New London

  • Take Interstate 95 South to Exit 68.
  • At end of exit ramp, bear right onto Rte. 1 South.
  • Travel 1/2 mile to the first traffic light and turn left onto Rte. 154 South (becomes 154 West).
  • Go through one traffic light, turn left at next light.
  • Sheffield St. is the third left on Main St. Old Saybrook
  • NCYC is on the left near end of Sheffield St. just beyond school.

From Hartford/Bradley Airport

  • Take Rte. 91 South to Rte. 9 South (Exit 22S, a left-lane exit).
  • Follow Route 9 South to exit 2.
  • Turn right off exit ramp onto Rte. 154 South (becomes 154 West- go through 3 traffic lights - at 4th light, turn left.
  • Sheffield St. is the third left on Main St. Old Saybrook
  • NCYC is on the left near end of Sheffield St. just beyond school.

From I-84 Eastbound/Westbound

  • Take I-84 South to I-91 South.
  • Take Rte. 91 South to Rte. 9 South (Exit 22S, a left-lane exit) (5-10 minute drive)
  • Follow Route 9 South to exit 2 - turn right off exit ramp onto Rte. 154 West
  • Follow Rte. 154 West for about 3 miles. Turn left at traffic light.
  • Sheffield St. is the third left on Main St. Old Saybrook
  • NCYC is on the left near end of Sheffield St. just beyond school.
